Music Editor (2025)

As music editor at the Dallas Observer, I expanded and led a freelance roster of 40+ writers and photographers covering Dallas's local music scene with intention and integrity.

I repositioned the section to prioritize local artists through a hip-hop lens, introduced K-pop coverage, and pushed beyond my comfort zone into pop, country, and metal. I published two cover stories, managed daily news cycles, secured exclusive concert previews with Ice Cube, Hoobastank, and Tye Harris, and curated Spotify playlists that connected readers to the city's sound.

I grew as an editor by putting community stories first and earning the trust of Dallas's music community.
